Apple released iPhone firmware 3.1.3

applemacApple has just released the iPhone firmware 3.1.3, which is available for both the iPhone and iPod touch and it will help to resolve a few issues.  The issues for which firmware has released by Apple are, the iPhone 3GS battery accuracy, third-party application crashes and crashing while using the Japanese Kana keyboard.

This update contains bug fixes and improvements for iPhone and iPod touch, including the following:

• Resolves issue where third-party apps would not launch in some instances
• Fixes bug that may cause an app to crash when using the Japanese Kana keyboard
• Improves accuracy of reported battery level on iPhone 3GS

The products compatible with this software update are iPhone (all models) and iPod touch (all models). The iPhone “firmware 3.1.3″ comes in just under 300mb.  Jailbroken owners of iPhones and iPod touch should be warned not to update their device, as they may lose their ability to jailbreak or unlock in the future.
